Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung reported yesterday that the head of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's office, Esfandiar Rahim Mashai, told the newspaper "these documents cannot be authentic."It quoted Mashai as saying that the leaked cables "certainly have no negative consequences" for Iran's relations with the Arab world.

Iran's nuclear programme, which it insists is only for peaceful energy production, has sent chills throughout the region. Several Arab countries, according to the cables published by WikiLeaks, expressed strong concern to the US about it, including support for military strikes.
