Russia’s ambassador to the UN called for “humanitarian cease-fire” in Gaza Strip and Israel on Friday, while blaming the US for ongoing conflict,as per a report by AFP news agency.

The Russian draft resolution, presented to the Security Council and seen by AFP, calls for an “immediate” ceasefire and secure release of all hostages, and “strongly condemns all violence and hostilities directed against civilians and all acts of terrorism.”

Israel Defence Forces (IDF) say it intercepted two unidentified targets over the city of Haifa and an IDF UAV was targeted upon. 'In response, the IDF struck a Hezbollah terrorist target in southern Lebanon,' it added.

Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Jonathan Conricus, in a briefing on its operations said "Our aim is very clear. The end state of this war is that we will dismantle Hamas and its military capabilities, and fundamentally change the situation, so that Hamas never again has the ability to inflict any damage on Israeli civilians or soldiers"

He said the military ordered evacuation yesterday so that civilans are not present in the area where IDF is going to 'enhance its military operations.'

There has been “a significant movement of Palestinian civilians towards the south”, he says, while criticising Hamas for telling citizens to not leave their lands, accusing the group of using “civilians as their human shields.”

He further added that Israeli reserve force are in formation around the Gaza strip for days now. “They are all around the Gaza Strip, in the south, in the center and in the north, and they are preparing themselves for whatever target they will get, whatever task,” he says.
