Trump during an interview called Leavitt a star and and a great person. He even complimented her "face and lips".

"She’s become a star. It’s that face. It’s that brain. It’s those lips, the way they move. They move like she’s a machine gun," Trump said in an interview with Newsmax, as per media reports.

He continued to say that she is a great person and praised her for being an amazing press secretary. "She’s a great person, actually. But she's – I don’t think anybody has ever had a better press secretary than Karoline. She’s been amazing," he said.

Trump's comments did not sit right with netizens as many called him out for his language. Some of the comments mentioned in a report by India Today, described Trump's language as "uncomfortable", "cringey" and "unprofessional".

Karoline Leavitt has been serving as the 36th White House press secretary under Trump's administration.

Trump's comments came after Leavitt said that he should be awarded Nobel Peace Prize, claiming he has ended several conflicts around the world including the one between India and Pakistan.

At a White House press briefing, Leavitt had said that Trump has “now ended conflicts between Thailand and Cambodia, Israel and Iran, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo and Egypt and Ethiopia.” She said that the president has brokered, on average, about one peace deal or ceasefire per month during his six months in office.

"It's well past time that President Trump was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize," she said.
