American billionare Elon Musk, who is easily one of the most talked about personalities on the planet currently, has yet again created a buzz after he changed the name of his official X account to 'Kekius Maximus'.

The CEO of Tesla and Space X recently grabbed the headlines by becoming the first person ever to reach $400 billion in net worth, following Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential elections in November 2024.

Notably, the tech mogul is also the owner of the social media platform X, having taken over the company in 2022.

But why did Musk change his X account name to 'Kekius Maximus'? Let's take a look.

Who, or rather what, is Kekius Maximus?

It is no secret that Musk is a patron and strong advocate of cryptocurrencies. According to coincheckup.com, Kekius Maximus, which goes by the ticker KEKIUS, is a cryptocurrency token inspired by memes, and is available on several blockchain platforms.

KEKIUS aims to combine humour with aspects of decentralized finance (DeFi), heavily influenced by internet culture, specifically the 'Pepe' meme.

Recently, KEKIUS has become a significantly prominent entity in the cryptocurrency market, drawing interest from both enthusiasts and investors. KEKIUS is now selling at about $0.005667 as of December 27, 2024, which represents a whopping 497.56 per cent increase over the previous day, as per memecointer.com.

With a 24-hour trading volume of $2,734,948, the cryptocurrency is showing signs of increased investor interest and market activity. On December 27, 2024, KEKIUS hit a record high; however, it has since retracted by roughly 24.30 per cent.

Musk's X shenanigans

This is not the first time when the billionare decided to alter the name of his X account. On January 26, 2023, Musk changed his X name to 'Mr. Tweet'.

"Changed my name to Mr. Tweet, now Twitter won’t let me change it back," he posted.

In another instance, he had also changed his X account name to 'Naughtius Maximus', before reverting back to his original name.
