Kyrgyzstan's parliament speaker Myktybek Abdyldayev said on Saturday he would resign after less than a week in the post.

He made his statement at a session when the parliament is expected to discuss appointing a new Kyrgyz government.

Abdyldayev said the session had a quorum.
