India has struck bases of Pakistan-based terror outfits on the night of May 6-7 as a retaliatory measure after terrorists killed 26 innocent civilians in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22.
India had initially taken diplomatic measures against Pakistan in the wake of the attack, ordering a number of diplomats of the country to leave New Delhi and suspending the Indus Water Treaty.
Later, India also blocked the social media accounts of several Pakistani news outlets and government offices, and further blocked the accounts of some top Pakistani stars.
Among them were actors Mahira Khan (famous in India for her performance in Shah Rukh Khan's Raees) and Hania Aamir.
According to a report by Economic Times, Mahira Khan reshared a tweet by author Fatima Bhutto and wrote on her Instagram story, "May Allah protect our country, may better sense prevail. Ameen."
The report also states that Aamir called the move by India 'cowardly'.

In contrast, Indian authorities, sportspersons, and other celebrities have stood behind the military action, hailing the Indian armed forces.
"Fearless in unity. Boundless in strength," said cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar as he led India's sporting fraternity in lauding 'Operation Sindoor' to destroy terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan.
The Indian armed forces, in the early hours of Wednesday, launched precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke.
The strikes were in retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were gunned down.
"Fearless in unity. Boundless in strength. India's shield is her people. There's no room for terrorism in this world. We're ONE TEAM! Jai Hind," Tendulkar posted on 'X'.
Former cricketers Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pthan, Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan also took to the social media platform in hailing India's strong response to the barbaric attack.
