In what is another diplomatic quagmire for India and Pakistan, the latter has refused to provide gas supply to a newly-constructed Indian residential complex in Islamabad despite a pipeline being laid.

According to a Times of India report, the issue of non-supply of gas was raised repeatedly by India with the Pakistan high commission and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

An official source said that several votes were issued to no avail. A group of men is also said to have raided the complex and disconnected water and electricity supply.

The complex is home to Indian diplomats and other staff who are facing issues as the cold weather and lack of gas have made heating unavailable. The residents also face intermittent power cuts and there has been at least one instance of someone attempting a break-in at one of the diplomats' homes.
