A meeting between Modi and Xi on the sidelines of the BRICS summit at Kazan in Russia in October 2024 had brought the India-China relations back on track, after it hit a new low over the military stand-off for four-and-a-half years along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh.

Beijing, however, recently extended support to Islamabad in the wake of the escalation of tension between India and Pakistan following the April 22 terrorist attack near Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

Singh will call on Putin and have a meeting with Russian Defence Minister Andrey Belousov.
