Moscow: President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia should have started its so-called Special Military Operation in Ukraine sooner than February 2022 and should have been better prepared for it.
Putin made the comment after being asked whether he would do anything different if he could go back in time to the start of 2022 and change something.
Putin said that Russia started the campaign "without any special preparation" because it was impossible to wait and watch the situation deteriorate any further.
When asked how the conflict has changed him, Putin said that he now joked less and had almost stopped laughing.
