South Korea's parliament on Thursday impeached 4 officials as a vote on impeaching President Yoon Suk Yeol after his martial law debacle looms, reports news agency AP.

Meanwhile, South Korea's interior minister Lee Sang-min on Thursday said that former defence minister Kim Yong-hyun had suggested declaring martial law to President Yeol, according to Reuters.

South Korea's main opposition Democratic Party plans to vote to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol at 7 pm on Saturday (1000 GMT).
