Taiwan says its people won't give in to threats from China

Taiwan's people are determined to defend themselves and will never succumb to threats of force, the Taiwanese government's China-policy making Mainland Affairs Council said on Saturday after Beijing launched military drills near the island.

China should stop using force and intimidation and start dialogue, it said in a statement.
