Bangkok: Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Thursday apologised after a phone conversation between her and former Cambodian Prime Minster Hun Sen was leaked.
Paetongtarn said the call was made from her personal phone and she did not know the conversation would be recorded and made public. She said the government was ready to support the country's military in all ways.
Thailand's foreign ministry said Cambodia's disclosure of a recording of a private conversation between PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra and former PM Hun Sen were unacceptable.
"It is a breach of diplomatic etiquette, a serious violation of trust, and undermines conduct between two neighbouring countries," spokesperson Nikorndej Balankura said on Thursday.
