President Donald Trump's deployment of troops to Los Angeles is estimated to cost about $134 million, a senior Pentagon official said on Tuesday.
Bryn MacDonnell, who is performing the duties of Comptroller at the Pentagon, told lawmakers that the cost included the cost of travel, housing and food for the troops.
The Pentagon has said that it will deploy 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles to help protect federal property and personnel amid protests taking place in the city.
