The Ukrainian capital Kyiv came under Russian air attack early on Saturday, with air defence units in operation, officials and Reuters witnesses said.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of the capital's military administration, said drones were attacking the city and there was a threat Russian missiles could be deployed.
Tkachenko said a fire had broken out in one district after a strike.
