Former Pakistani diplomat Zafar Hilaly reportedly admitted that 300 terrorists had died in the Balakot airstrike by India on February 26, 2019, according to a report by news agency ANI.

However, the information was found to be misleading and the news agency later retracted the story. Hilaly, in a series of tweets on his Twitter account, stated that news reports of him confirming the casualties were based on a video interview of him for a Pakistani channel, which was doctored.
