We've heard of big fat Indian weddings. But it seems that Pakistanis can match the sheer extravagance too.

In the viral video on X, a plane is seen showering millions of rupees. According to the post, the money was being showered over the bride's house by the groom's father following a request by the bride's father.

Reportedly, the groom's father rented the plane for this grand gesture. On a humorous note, the user also said that the groom might spend his life repaying the debt his father might have incurred over this.

The post, in Urdu reads, "The bride's father's request... The groom's father rented a plane for his son's wedding and dropped millions of rupees on the bride's house. Now it seems the groom will continue to pay off his father's debt for the rest of his life."

With wedding season going on in India, such extravagant shows are likely to surge in number.

The average wedding spend in 2022 was about Rs 20 lakh, in 2023 it rose to Rs 25 lakh, whereas this year it went up further to Rs 30 lakh per wedding, CAIT Founder and General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal told PTI.

The rise in wedding budgets also saw a sharp growth through 2024 for those engaged in associated sectors, such as wedding photographers, wedding card dealers, choreographers, and orchestras.

And along with the rising spend, the amount of bizarre incidents arising from weddings might increase too.

Recently, a groom left his marriage ceremony as he was enraged over a delay in food being served. The groom not only abandoned the bride, but also went and got married to another girl.

Crimes also prevail during weddings as seen in the case of the 'looteri dulhan', a woman that Rajasthan police arrested, who was infamous for marrying multiple men and collecting Rs 1.25 crore from them under the pretence of a settlement.
