Elon Musk on Wednesday admitted feeling regret for some of the posts he made on US President Donald Trump.
"They went too far," Musk wrote on X, possibly signalling an end to the feud between the world's richest man and the President of the United States.
Sources close to Musk have told Reuters that his anger has started to subside and he might be looking to make amends.
Elon Musk, during his very public spat with the US President, went so far as to say Trump's name was on the Epstein files, before deleting the post. Musk's father, some time back, had commented that Trump would prevail, and his son had erred.
Musk's beef with Trump became all the more evident after his DOGE exit, when the Tesla CEO derided Trump's 'big, beautiful' bill, noting that it would undo all of DOGE's work.
Trump, during their tiff, also signalled his disappointment with Musk, and did not seem open to a reconciliation. He went to warn Musk of 'serious consequences' if he supported Democrats to run against Republicans voting for Trump's bill.
The two, however, seemed to be on the same page regarding the LA riots getting out of hand, as Musk's social media posts suggest.
Musk's stance alteration also comes after a post noted that he lost 25 per cent fortune in a quest to streamline the US government. Commenting on this '$113 billion loss', Musk said it was 'worth it'.
A thaw in the iciness was in the offing when Trump, surprisingly, in an interview said that he used to have a good relationship with Musk -- a far cry from earlier saying he'd lost his mind -- and went on to comment that he wished Musk 'very well'. He further said that while he might be moving his Tesla off site, he had no plans to discontinue Musk's Starlink service to the White House.
Musk reacted to this on his platform with a heart emoji. The apparent bonhomie comes after a tense few days when Musk alleged that Trump would not have won the election without him and even suggested impeachment, while Trump threatened to scrap Musk's government contracts.
After Musk's post, Tesla shares in Frankfurt rose 2.7 per cent, Reuters reported.
