The video has sparked massive outrage and criticism online and has also drawn widespread condemnation wherein many accuse the US the Trump administration of dehumanizing vulnerable people, the immigrants.

Featuring detained migrants who are being processed for deportation, the video is set on the hit 1983 soundtrack 'Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)’, by the UK pop group Bananarama.

As the soundtrack plays "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey, goodbye," the immigrants are seen lined up and escorted by border patrol agents.

Several users criticising the celebratory tone of the video commented on the video, wherein one user wrote, “Again, this is highly unprofessional. You are the White House spokesperson. You represent the voice of the American people.”

Another said, “This is incredibly tasteless coming from an official leadership office. What an embarrassment and tactless display. The same statement could have been said without childish taunts.”

“Disgusting from the official White House page, absolute mockery,” said another.

US Border Czar Thomas D. Homan in a post on X said, " President Trump’s leadership continues to break records! Border Patrol encounters for the month of March was 7,181 total."

"Thanks to President Trump and his game changing policies, those days are over," he added.

Earlier in the month of February, The White House had shared a similar video on X, titled "ASMR: Illegal Alien Deportation Flight", which shows immigrants tied in shackles and boarding a deportation flight.

The 41-second video clip shows officers preparing for the deportation wherein they are seen laying hand-cuffs, chaining the deportees, followed by an individual boarding the aircraft, ready to be deported. However, the faces of the deportees’ are not visible in the entire video clip.

The video had gone viral and was also retweeted by Elon Musk, wherein he responded with “Haha wow”.
