Cricket presenter Yesha Sagar, who was engaged with the Chittagong Kings, withdrew from the Bangladesh Premier League 2025 entirely after receiving a legal notice.
What is the Bangladesh Premier League controversy?
Samir Kader Chowdhury, owner of the franchise cricket team, sent a legal notice to Yesha alleging that she had violated stipulations which were outlined in her contract.
Reportedly, Chowdhury in the notice said, "As per clause 9 of the contract, you (Yesha) have failed to perform your duties and did not attend the dinner with the sponsors despite being officially invited. You also did not complete the sponsors’ shoot and promotional shout-out. Your absence has caused financial and reputational damage to the franchise (Chittagong Kings)."
Who is Yesha Sagar?
Yesha Sagar is an Indian Canadian cricket presenter, actress and model who hails from Punjab.
After completing her graduation from Ludhiana's Khalsa College, Yesha relocated to Canada's Toronto for further studies at the Seneca College in Ontario.
She stepped into the world of modelling when she was in college and subsequently worked in the Punjabi entertainment industry.
Yesha is known for her roles in numerous Punjabi songs and has worked with famous Punjabi artists - Gippy Grewal, Parmish Verma, Babbu Maan and more.
Recently, Yesha also worked with comedian Kapil Sharma in a music video - Guilt.
Yesha later ventured into sports presenting and has hosted several leagues including Global T20 Canada, UP T20 League and Bangladesh Premier League.
Also, a fitness enthusiast, Yesha has collaborated with companies like Magnum Nutraceuticals, Revive Superfoods and Precision Nutrition.
