Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called US President Donald Trump on Sunday night to inform him that Canada would not target US technology companies with a digital services tax on the United States, the White House said on Monday.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Carney had "caved" on the issue after Trump cut off trade negotiations with Canada.
