Karnataka CM Bommai announces compensation for damages due to rain

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai on November 22 announced compensation for the damages caused by incessant rains in various parts of the state after reviewing the assessment. “This widespread unexpected rainfall due to depression in Bay of Bengal has led to a huge crop damage. I've asked for an immediate report on the compensation (of Rs 685 crores). Rs 130 crores have already been released for previous crop losses. Compensation of Rs 1 lakh will be given for house collapses. We have released Rs 500 crores for roads and bridges and have made emergency rescue teams all around the city,” he added.
