Kamal Haasan meets PM Modi amid Sanatana row in New Delhi

Kamal Haasan, acclaimed filmmaker and leader of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), met Prime Minister Narendra Modi weeks after making his debut in Parliament as a newly sworn-in Rajya Sabha MP.

Kamal took to social media and shared several images of his meeting and said that he presented some requests to the PM.

He also gifted the Prime Minister a memento inspired by Keeladi village, located 12 km from Madurai along the banks of the Vaigai River.

The 70-year-old actor said he urged the PM to support "Tamil people in showcasing to the world the grandeur of Tamil civilisation and the timeless glory of the Tamil language."

"I urged the Prime Minister to extend his support to the Tamil people in showcasing to the world the grandeur of Tamil civilisation and the timeless glory of the Tamil language," he concluded.
