Tahawwur Rana - 2025

Tahawwur Rana, accused in the Mumbai terror attacks, is set to be extradited to India from the United States after running out of legal avenues there.

Ravi Pujari - 2020

Fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari, who is wanted for many heinous crimes, was extradited from Senegal through France to Bengaluru in January 2020. He has been lodged in the Bengaluru Central Prison and stands trial in 97 cases, ranging from murder to extortion.

Rajiv Saxena - 2019

Rajiv Saxena was deported from Dubai, UAE, in January 2019 before his arrest by the ED. This was the 2nd high-profile arrest in the case after Christian Michel.

Christian James Michel - 2018

Christian James Michel is alleged to have paid bribes to Indian officials in connection with a major helicopter deal involving British-Italian firm AgustaWestland. He was extradited from the UAE in 2018 and has remained in custody since.

Jathedar Jagtar Singh Tara - 2015

In January 2015, Jagtar Singh Tara was brought back to India from Thailand after being convicted for the assassination of ex-Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. He is presently serving a life sentence in Burail’s Model Jail.

Abu Salem - 2005

In November 2005, after years of legal negotiations, Abu Salem was brought back to India from Portugal in connection with the 1993 Bombay bombings. His return came with assurances from the Indian government that he would not face the death penalty or life imprisonment exceeding 25 years.
