Parvati Nair became the brand ambassador for Mysore Sandal Soap after winning the Miss Karnataka title in 2009.

In a Rs 6.2 crore agreement, the Karnataka government appointed Tamannaah Bhatia as KSDL’s brand ambassador. Though aimed at boosting the brand's  popularity, the decision drew backlash from pro-Kannada activists calling for promotion of local artists.
