Rajat Patidar: Everything you need to know about the new RCB Captain

Royal Challengers Bengaluru appointed star batter Rajat Patidar as their new captain ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, aiming to end their long drought for the coveted trophy.

Patidar will replace former South African batter Faf du Plessis, who captained the side from 2022 to 2024.

Having joined RCB in 2021, the 31-year-old has completed three seasons with the franchise and established himself as an essential part of the squad.

Rajat has scored 799 runs for RCB, including one century and seven fifties, in 28 matches at a strike rate of 158.85.

Well, this will be his first leadership role in IPL, Rajat has captained Madhya Pradesh during the 2024-25 seasons of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20) and Vijay Hazare Trophy (50-over).
