<p>The CBI has cracked the Bhanwari Devi abduction and murder case, which has created a political storm in Rajasthan, with the arrest of two members of a gang, alleged to have burnt and disposed of the body of the missing nurse.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Bishnaram Bishnoi, the leader of the gang, suspected to have disposed of the missing nurse’s body, and another member Kailash Jakhar were arrested in a span of two days. <br /><br />According to sources, Bishnoi was nabbed by the Maharashtra police near Pune. Jakhar was arrested on Tuesday night on the Jodhpur-Ajmer highway, when he was on a truck, following a tip-off. <br /><br />Jakhar is alleged to have obtained Bhanwari Devi from Sohan Lal Bishnoi, Shahabuddin and Baldev after they picked her up from Bilara on September 1. The police sources said he had confessed to have taken the body of Bhanwari Devi and disposed it of somewhere in Jaloda village near Phalodi.<br /><br />“He (Jakhar) has admitted to having burnt her and disposed of the remains in the Rajiv Gandhi Link canal,” said sources close to investigating agency. The sleuths on Wednesday took Jhakar to the site for physical verification, the sources said.<br /><br />Bishnoi was wanted by the CBI and carried a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head. The CBI has already arrested Bishnoi’s brother Om Prakash Bishnoi who is currently under the CBI custody.<br /><br />Jakhar, according to the investigations so far, had come to Nevra Road on the evening of September 1 to receive Bhanwari Devi from Sohan Lal, Shahabuddin and Balva in a light green Scorpio. Following Sahi Ram Bishnoi’s direction, they had handed her over to Jakhar for the final disposal and destruction of proof of her identification.<br /><br />The police had seized the Scorpio some time back. The team has examined the vehicle. Jakhar sold the car to one Sharavan Singh. The CBI has kept him at its camp office at Jodhpur Circuit House for further interrogation. It has taken Om Prakash to Jaloda for the verification of the spot, as he is also believed to be with Jakhar during the disposal of Bhanwari's body. This arrest of two members of the gang and identification of the spot of Bhanwari's disposal are now expected to enable the CBI reply to the Rajasthan High Court, where the habeas corpus filed by Bhanwari’s husband Amarchand is still pending and is listed for next hearing on January 10.<br /><br />Also, CBI sources said, the sacked Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna and Congress MLA Malkhan Singh allegedly planned Bhanwari’s murder. Bhanwari’s husband was aware of his wife’s abduction and was paid Rs 10 lakh in advance by Malkhan Singh, sources added. <br /><br />Malkahn paid Rs 10 lakh to keep Bhanwari out of Jodhpur during the All India Bishnoi Mela to be held in Jodhpur on September 8 as Bhanwari had threatened to expose him during the gathering by declaring that he was the father of her youngest daughter. Maderna and Malkhan were hand-in-glove in the entire conspiracy as the nurse was blackmailing both of them. Maderna was also believed to have been blackmailed on the basis of a CD showing him in a compromising position with the nurse.</p>
