Kejriwal slams Modi at AAP rally as crowds cheer on

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal in a massive rally on Wednesday launched a tirade against the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with a warning that “one corporate house will run the nation” if it is left to these parties.

At the meeting in Kannamwar Nagar late on Wednesday evening, Kejriwal found himself hailed and applauded after each verbal punch against the parties.

He said: “I am warning you – after April, the country will witness unprecedented levels of inflations – everything, foodgrain, vegetables, fruit, petrol…all will become very expensive….and why? Purely because of the politics they follow.

“We have to defeat Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Narendra Modi, Nitin Gadkari, Kapil Sibal et al. You must vote for the AAP. This is the only party which has interests of the masses in mind.”

Kejriwal reiterated his earlier address in south Mumbai, stating: “They say there is Modi wave. I have not found any such Modi wave rippling in any part of the country. Yes, I do find a wave that is pulsating angrily and that is the anger of the people against such parties. We don’t want to remove the Congress and replace it with BJP. We want to sweep the Indian polity of dubious elements, criminals and corrupt who are all in support of Modi.”

The speech was replete with attacks on “Modi claims” and the crowds toast to it in the election arena gave the impression that there were only two contenders-Kejriwal and the Gujarat chief minister.

Ripping apart Modi’s claim over good governance and “Ram Rajya”, Kejriwal said: “The ground reality in Gujarat is shocking. Prime lands of farmers are being grabbed at cheap prices and handed over to big industrialists at dirt cheap prices. Sometimes at Re 1 per acre. Farmers are shedding tears of blood...800 farmers have committed suicide in the past few years.
