Aam Aadmi Party internal survey predicts 51 seats for itself, 15 for BJP and four for Congress and others, the party said on Wednesday.

In terms of vote share, AAP is likely to get 46 per cent while BJP will get 33 per cent, and Congress 11 per cent, the party claimed. Vote share projection for other parties is 10 per cent.

Senior party leader Yogendra Yadav claimed the “AAP wave” will help the Arvind Kejriwal-led party glide to a clear majority. He said the four latest surveys by news organisations are unanimous in their finding that the AAP is heading towards a majority.

AAP conducted the survey over two days on January 31 and February 1 in 35 constituencies in Delhi, 3188 respondents were surveyed.

The psephologist-turned-politician said 12 per cent respondents were from the rural areas where as 17 per cent belonged to the upper middle class, and around 13 per cent were Muslims.

In the best case scenario, the AAP claimed that the saffron party will slide to irrelevance with just 10 seats.

“Even in the worst case scenario, AAP will get 44 seats with 20 going to the BJP which will be their best performance according to us. In the best case scenario, AAP will get 57 seats, BJP will get barely 10 while four will go to Congress and others,” Yadav said.

The outcome of the survey also suggests that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal is the most favoured chief ministerial candidate. The party said Kejriwal leads the race for CM post with 53 per cent votes, while only 34 per cent respondents endorsed BJP’s Kiran Bedi.

The party also claimed substantial gains in middle and upper-middle voter segment a day before campaigning for the February 7 polls ends.
