JOIN USA promotional event by Delhi Daredevils at V3S Mall in Laxmi Nagar in east Delhi turned into chaos for onlookers and mediapersons when hundreds of fans thronged the venue and jumped over fences fora glimpse of the cricket stars.
Irfan Pathan, Morne Morkel, Gulam Bodi, Naman Ojha, Unmukt Chand and Punit Bist, members of Delhi Daredevils, turned up at least an hour late for an event at a food outlet.
Security guards hired by the organisers pushed the waiting journalists and blocked camerapersons from covering the event.
Who’s fault?
It then became a blame game between the organisers and the public relations company managing the event, Goodword Media Services.
An official of the public relations company said theorganisers had changed the venue at the last minute.
The event was scheduled to be held at Select Citywalk mall at Saket.The chief executive officer of Fast Trax Pvt Ltd, G B Singh, however, said the PR company did not handle the event properly.
“They should be blamed for all the chaos created. We tried our best to make the event hassle free but a huge number of fans jumped the fence into the restricted area and the situation went out of control,” said Singh.

When mediapersons approached police to handle the situation, they manhandled the reporters and fans as well.
