Complaint against AAP MLA for job fraud

'Took Rs 9 lakh from three people promising govt jobs'

A police complaint has been registered against AAP legislator Sarita Singh for allegedly receiving 9 lakh rupees from three people promising them government jobs. The complainant Shakeel Ahmed also alleged that the MLA from North East Delhi’s Rohtash Nagar used derogatory language, referring to his religion.

The complaint has been registered at North East Delhi’s Welcome police station. “We have registered a complaint against AAP MLA Sarita Singh and the complaint is being enquired,” said Ajit Singla, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East range).

Couple of hours after the complaint, Singh also filed a complaint against Ahmed accusing him of cheating, misappropriation of funds and criminal intimidation in Mansarovar Park police station.

In his complaint, Ahmed alleged that after getting elected as an MLA, Singh made him in charge of electricity related issues of the area. One day when Ahmed told Singh that some people were asking him to get government jobs  for them, Singh said since she is the “parliamentary secretary of the employment department” she could help them.

“She told me that it would take three lakh rupees per person to get them government job,” said Ahmed in his police complaint. Ahmed arranged nine lakh rupees from three persons and gave them over to Singh.

When even after many days no response came from Singh’s side, Ahmed asked her about it. “She tried to evade my questions on the topic and started avoiding me,” the complaint mentioned.

One day, Ahmed went to Singh’s house and confronted her about the money. “I angrily asked her to either get the three men employed or return the money,” Ahmed wrote in the complaint.

At this Singh lost her temper and used derogatory words refering to his religion, he alleged. According to his complaint, she called Muslim names. She went on to threaten Ahmed by flaunting her MLA post and alleged that she would get him arrested by trapping him in criminal cases, according to the complaint.
