Delhi Police constable held for raping class 8 student

He befriended 15-year-old girl a few days ago

 A city police constable was arrested for raping a class 8 student at Jamia Nagar in south east Delhi. The constable, Insaaf Khan had become friends with the girl a few days ago.

Khan was posted at Jamia Nagar police station. The matter came to light on Saturday after the 15-year-old victim along with parents approached Pul Prahladpur police station and registered a complaint against Khan.

Police sent the victim for medical examination where doctors confirmed rape, a police officer said.

Police registered a case and arrested Khan.Khan, who hails from Bihar, has been sent to judicial custody. A departmental action has also been initiated against Khan who lives in a rented accommodation at Pul Prahladpur in south Delhi. 

The victim in her complaint told police that Khan raped her at his friend’s flat in Pul Prahladpur on Friday. The girl added that Khan wanted to meet her so she had gone to meet him.He took her to his friend’s flat where he raped her. “The accused warned the girl of dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident,” said an official.

The victim rushed to her house and told her mother about it, who in turn informed her husband.
