The police bands will display their brass and pipe bands at popular city junctions in the national capital while a five-day competition will take place at the CRPF academy in Gurgaon's Kadarpur on Delhi's outskirts.

“The police bands of the CRPF and other police forces will regale general public at City Mall Saket, DLF Promenade Vasant Kunj and India Gate on three separate days — December 13, 14 and 15 from 6 to 8 pm. They will showcase their best music and spread awareness about their unique music,” a senior official said.

A total of 24 police teams, including those from Central paramilitary forces, are participating in the annual event which was inaugurated by CRPF Chief K Vijay Kumar in Kadarpur today.

Apart from military tunes like ‘Indian Soldier’, ‘Mushkoh Valley’, ‘Overture’ and ‘Trafalgar’, a select set of bugler, pipe and drum tunes will also be played by the artistes and drummers of these police forces, the official said. The competition will close on December 16.
