Why beg for alliance, PDP asks Omar

Reacting to chief minister Omar Abdullah’s assertions about his four-year’ ‘report card’ and gaining public support, opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday said if he was so confident “he should not be have been seen as begging for an alliance with Congress.”

“The fact is that the chief minister is extremely jittery about his future and his bravado does not either match his performance at the ground or the political credibility of his party,” said chief PDP spokesperson Naeem Akhtar here while responding to Omar’s statement in Ganderbal on Tuesday.

Senior leader Syed Altaf Bukhari was also present.

Omar had said his ‘report card’ was before the people and they had given him certificate for his government’s performance.

“As such, I am not afraid of the propaganda and false bogies carried by my detractors whether from PDP or separatists,” the chief minister had said.
