<p>Rajasthan now has its own super 30. A mining company group under its corporate social responsibility has launched a Super 30 Rajasthan for its IIT aspirants along with the country’s first medical Super 30 centre especially for girls from the weaker sections.<br /><br /></p>.<p>“It is a 10-month long fully residential course free of cost for the selected students. The super-30 IIT-JEEE will have 24 boys and six girls while 30 girls have been selected for the medical Super 30 said T Ravi Krishan, chief executive of Vedanta Foundation.The faculty includes Abhyanand, director general of police whose brainchild was Bihar’s Super 30.<br /><br />Through video conferencing and some facultymembers from IIT-Kharagpur and IIT-BHU have also been roped in.<br /><br />“I’m a step closer to realise my dream of becoming a doctor with my selection in the Super 30. It was difficult to carry on with studies in myvillage,with six siblings,” said Savita Meena,student selected for medical Super 30. <br /><br />The selection of 60 students for the first batch of Super 30s have been completed. They have been selected out of 900 students through a stringent process. <br /><br />The group has identified students from Jawahar Navodaya schools functioning in 22 districts in the state.<br /><br />Only students belonging to family annual income of below Rs 2 lakh were allowed to to appear in the entrance exam.<br /><br />S K Sahai of the Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership said they have been appointed as a consultant to the project by the Vedanta group to set up the ‘Super 30 in Rajasthan’.<br /><br />‘A provision has also been made for sponsoring the some of the selected students on a case to case basis as many of them may not be able to meet the expenses of their course if selected,” said Sahai.<br /></p>
