Last Updated 19 October 2019, 14:24 IST

YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will announce the list of contesting candidates on March 16 at Idupulapaya after paying tributes at the YSR ghat.

He will kick-start the election campaign from the Gurazala Assembly constituency in Guntur district.

The first public meeting will be held at Piduguralla of Gurazala Assembly constituency and will be followed by public meetings at Narsipatnam, Nellimerla and P. Gannavaram.

The party's honorary president Y S Vijayamma and Jagan's sister Y S Sharmila will also be campaigning.

Jagan will be covering a minimum of three constituencies, and maybe even more depending on the need, YSR Congress general secretary Talasila Raghuram told the media on Wednesday.

During the Praja Sankalpa Yatra, 134 Assembly constituencies were covered by Jagan Mohan Reddy, so the preference will be to the remaining places.

This is why Gurazala was included and the campaigning is beginning from there.

'Navaratnas', nine programmes the YSRCP will implement if the party comes to power, will be highlighted in the manifesto.

The campaign schedule of the party president will be announced every three days. A helicopter will be hired to save time and cover more ground, he said.
