JOIN USThe police under Dharmasthala police station jurisdiction arrested a man who tried to outrage the modesty of a woman and her sister, for refusing to accept his proposal to marry.
The arrested is Thomas. The suspect had followed the 20-year old woman who was travelling in an auto with her father and sister and hit the autorickshaw. Later, he assaulted the auto driver, pulled the woman’s hair and threatened to kill her for refusing his love.
He even tried to kill her by trying to strangulate her. When her younger sister tried to save her, the accused bit her and tried to outrage her modesty. The police have registered a case under IPC Section 354, 323 and 307.
According to SP Ravikanthe Gowda, there are several cases against the man. All measures will be taken to extern him.
Rescued from drowning
A 70-year old woman was rescued on Tuesday by Lifeguards at Someshwara beach. The woman tried to commit suicide by jumping into the sea. She was handed over to her family after counselling her.
