Beauty pageant for transgenders tomorrow

A state-level beauty pageant for transgenders will be organised at Town Hall on October 14, said Parivarthan Charitable Trust Founder Violet Pereira.

She told reporters that the beauty pageant is being planned to build confidence among the transgender community. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will participate in the formal programme. Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister U T Khader, Udupi District In-charge Minister Jayamala and others will be the guests.

About 40 transgenders across the state had enrolled for the contest. The participants are being trained for the pageant. The audition will be held on October 11, where the top 12 contestants will be selected. Dance performances by ‘Sizzling Guys’ group will be part of the pageant.
