Cong not happy with CM's 'unhappy' remarks

The state Congress has not taken kindly to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s admission that he is not happy heading the coalition government.

A day after Kumaraswamy revealed that he was single handedly enduring the pains of a coalition rule, senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge said Kumaraswamy was sending out a wrong message to the people.

“You have to face the problems. Such statements will not give a good message to people who supported secular parties. Kumaraswamy should be courageous,” he added.

Disagreeing with Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara said, “How can he say that? He surely must be happy. The chief minister has to be happy always - if he's happy we'll all be happy.”

Congress MLA D Sudhakar said Kumaraswamy should be grateful to the Congress for making him the chief minister. “Congress has given 'amrutha' (nectar) to Kumaraswamy, not poison. There is no need for Kumaraswamy to shed tears. As the representative of 6.5 crore people, he should should be wiping the tears of the people, instead,” he said.
