BJP leaders disrespecting Constitution: Sorake

Last Updated 17 January 2019, 17:58 IST

The Congress party workers staged a protest against the BJP’s attempt to topple the coalition government, at War Memorial in Udupi on Thursday.

The agitators shouted slogans against BJP and Operation Lotus.

Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake addressing the gathering accused BJP of following anti-democratic policies. He alleged that BJP leaders, including the president Amith Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, were trying to destabilise the state government.

Though Congress party got more seats in Goa, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur states, BJP had wrested power through horse trading. He declared that BJP leaders had lost all morality and were indulging in unethical activities. “They are disrespecting the Constitution,” he declared.

BJP MLAs should take care of their own constituencies instead of interfering in the business of others. Former MLA Gopal Bhandari said that the voters were now lamenting on having voted BJP to power as the party does not hesitate to indulge in unethical activities.
