<p>Acer, announced the availability of its ‘Timeline series’ of notebooks based on Intel Ultra-Low Voltage (ULV) platform in India. <br /><br /> The new ULV Intel Core 2 solo processor enables host of new, very thin consumer laptop designs with long battery life. Moreover, the new launches are at prices that mainstream consumers can afford, the company said.<br /><br />Microsoft Vista<br /><br />The notebooks are available in three screen sizes: 13.3 inches priced at Rs 39,999, 14 inches at Rs 42,999 and 15.6 inches at Rs 44,999. The first is preloaded with Microsoft’s operating system Vista Home basics and the last with Vista Home Premium. Acer Aspire Timeline Series notebooks are powered by processors that run cooler (TDP-10W) than the standard volt processors (TDP 25W-35W), thus enabling very thin (0.8 inch to 1 inch) laptops that are quieter and typically have longer battery life of about 8 hours, the company claimed. <br /><br />Announcing the launch Acer Managing Director W S Mukund said: “For computer users particularly interested in thin and light platforms, these products offer best possible tradeoff between space, weight, performance, power and price.”<br /><br />Added Acer India Chief Marketing Officer S Rajendran through our partnership with Intel we have brought leadership technology and notebook PC value to consumers worldwide.</p>
