Amazon's cloud business in Bahrain damaged in Iran strike: Report

Amazon's cloud ​computing operation in Bahrain was damaged after an Iranian strike, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday, ⁠citing a person familiar with the matter.

Bahrain's ⁠Interior Ministry said earlier in ‌the day that ​civil defence teams were extinguishing a fire at a company facility following what authorities described as an Iranian attack.

* The ​ministry did ⁠not immediately provide details on the company involved, casualties or the extent of damage.

* The report of the ⁠strike came ‌a day after Iran's Revolutionary Guards threatened to target US companies ‌in the Middle East, including Microsoft, ⁠Google and Apple , in retaliation for attacks on Iran.

* Amazon ‌did not immediately respond ‌to Reuters request for comment on ‌the FT report.

* Last week, ‌the e-commerce giant said its Amazon Web Services region in Bahrain had been "disrupted" amid ⁠the current ⁠conflict in the Middle East, marking the second time in a month that its operations have been affected by the war.

* AWS is Amazon's cloud computing unit and critical ​for the operation of many well-known websites ​and government operations, ​and the company's main profit driver.
