Paytm teams up with Perplexity to integrate AI in its app

Bengaluru: Payments platform Paytm has partnered with answer engine Perplexity to add artificial intelligence (AI) as an offering to its Indian costumers, according to a regulatory filing by Paytm’s parent company One 97 Communications Limited on Thursday.

This partnership integrates AI-powered search in the Paytm app. “This collaboration marks a major step toward integrating AI-driven intelligence into mobile payments, enabling users to get real-time financial assistance within the Paytm app,” said the filing.

Paytm aims to enable users to make informed financial decisions, in managing finances, exploring market trends, or making daily choices.

Paytm said users can “ask everyday questions, explore topics in their local language, and make informed financial decisions,” with the new feature and a step towards “making AI an integral part of everyday life in India”.
