The Consumer Affairs Ministry plans to introduce the Forward Contracts (Regulation) amendment bill, which seeks to grant autonomy to commodity market regulator Forward Markets Commission (FMC), in Parliament this session if the Cabinet approves it. The Law Ministry is reviewing the amendment and after its approval, the bill will be sent to the Cabinet. The amendment seeks to give autonomy to FMC similar to what Sebi enjoys. in the stock market.
