<p>To get the maximum out of this festive season, and also to give a facelift to its SUV, Ford India on Wednesday announced the launch of the new Ford EcoSport. “This upgradation was done after getting feedback from consumers, fans of Ford, among others,” said Rahul Gautam, VP, Marketing, Ford India.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The new EcoSport delivers peak power of 100 PS (73.8 kW). “In the old one, it was 90 PS,” said Gautam, adding it delivers fuel economy of 22.27 km/L.<br /><br />“We are also introducing the Trend+ variant, which comes with the 1.0L EcoBoost petrol engine technology. This 1.0L EcoBoost has won the International Engine of the Year Award thrice. If you take the design part, it comes with automatic headlamps, daytime running lights that enhance visibility, and rain-sensing wipers, among others,” he said. <br /><br />With the new EcoSport, Ford has introduced a new colour in Golden Bronze. Explaining Ford’s SYNC with AppLink, Gautam said it’s a patented technology. It allows drivers to control their phone, entertainment, and apps hands-free using voice commands. “Also, it comes with the Emergency Assistance feature that automatically places a call in case of collision,” he said.<br /><br />Only recently did Ford India celebrate the sale of two lakh units of its popular EcoSport. When asked about the expected sales and competition from Mahindra’s newly launched TUV 300 and Hyundai’s Creta, Gautam said, “Competition is coming in, but we are holding on with sales of 3,500 to 4,000 units a month.”<br /><br />The price of the New Ford EcoSport starts at Rs 6,79,563 (ex-showroom Delhi). Gautam said the new version would be slightly more expensive (by 0.5 per cent).</p>
