<p>To give impetus to small scale industries who have limited resources to acquire land, the Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC) will acquire land at various places in the state from Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB).<br /><br /></p>.<p>Besides, it will also set up industry-specific clusters to spur growth and ask the Centre to enhance the amount from Rs 15 crore to Rs 25 crore.<br /><br />Details were given by KSSIDC Managing Director, C Somasekhara on Thursday, during a meeting” with members of Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (Kassia).<br />“We will acquire land in Dabaspet (50 acres), Harohalli (50 acres), V Narsapur (100 acres), Belgaum (50 acres) and other places, utilising our existing cash reserves of about Rs 250 crore and hope to complete the exercise within two to three months.”<br /><br />He said the clusters have been identified in Udupi (for engineering and cashew), Mangalore (gems and jewellery) and Dharwad (engineering). He said that the government would approach a consultative approach with small scale businesses to arrive at the right solutions to address their problems.</p>
