Malabar Gold to open more small retail outlets

Jewellery retailer Malabar Gold & Diamonds on Saturday said it will open more small retail outlets in Bengaluru, as part of its efforts to engage customers in a better way.

Interacting with DH during the inauguration of the 16th outlet in Karnataka, Malabar Gold & Diamonds Managing Director Asher O said the company’s next big plan for Bengaluru will be small retail format showrooms.

“We have already opened five big format showrooms here. Now we are looking at small retail outlets which will come up at malls and other shopping areas of the city,” said Asher. The new showroom, spread over 3,000 sq feet, is also 171st showroom worldwide, and was inaugurated by actor Tamannah Bhatia.

Malabar Group Chairman M P Ahammed in a statement said the company is ready to take forward its expansion plan in Karnataka. 

In a recent statement, the company had announced that it would invest Rs 620 crore to add 24 more outlets both in India and abroad over the next three months and hire over 1,000 professionals.

Malabar Group, which owns Malabar Gold & Diamonds, is a leading diversified Indian business conglomerate with its presence in realty, IT and hospitality.

The group has over 1,700 investors and is ranked among the top five jewellery retailers globally. Malabar Gold &Diamonds earmarks distinct 5% of its annual profit for activities in the field of health, education and housing charity.
