Renesas Mobile's new R&D centre

Renesas Mobile started operations on December 1, 2010, with the completion of Renesas Electronics acquisition of the Wireless Modem group of Nokia Corporation which provided proven wireless modern technology as well as R&D teams from the wireless modem group.

Renesas Mobile Corporation Senior Vice President Heikki Tenhunen said, “Today, Renesas Mobile India is a key R&D centre in wireless modem technology, performing leading edge technology development. In addition to 2G, 3G and LTE.”

Renesas Electronics Singapore, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Renesas Electronics, opened a branch office in Bangalore earlier this year to deliver to India the cutting-edge technology that Renesas Electronics offers globally, with the aim of doubling its sales in India to $100 million by FY2012.
