State Bank of Mysore launches mobile banking

Launching the service, State Bank of Mysore Managing Director Dilip Mavinkurve said, it is our desire that all our walk-in customers should move to mobile banking as the convenience is immense. Apart from avoiding the inconvenience of travelling to a brick and mortar branch of a bank, the facilities are available 24/7
.
Facilities available

The facilities currently available will be funds transfer within and outside the bank, enquiry services like balance enquiry or mini-statements and request services like those for cheque books.
 
It will be available to all customers irrespective of the service provider of the mobiles. The customers can register for the service either at any of the bank’s branches or ATMs. SBM also announced that the Government of Karnataka scheme for sanction of crop loan to farmers up to Rs 50,000 at 3 per cent rate of interest is now available from the bank.  The government provides 4 per cent interest subsidy on crop loans up to Rs 50,000.

The loan is applicable to individual farmers, and for loans sanctioned and disbursed between April 1 2009 to March 31 2010.
