Wipro rejigs service lines

Wipro, India's third largest IT services firm, on Friday decided to restructure its services by adding new offerings.

Wipro’s service lines include business process services (BPS), cloud and infrastructure services.

Talking to DH, Wipro Chief Operating Officer Bhanumurthy said the company moved analytics and artificial intelligence together and made it into Data, Analytics and AI services lines.

“It will help the company attract clients better. Also, we are looking at other dynamics where the natural language processing and machine learning moving ahead and impacting business verticals,” he said.

The company's move comes at a time when it is working hard to retain its third place in the IT services industry.

Bhanumurthy also said the company changed its infrastructure services into cloud infrastructure service. “Wipro infrastructure service contributes one third of our revenues and focus on cloud related services will help us to serve our customers better,” he said.

The company retained the name of its other service lines like modern application services and product engineering services.
