<p>The answer to any missed meal in today’s fitness-driven world — oats, whey, and everything nice — and that is exactly what Zago presents, bottles full. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The Bengaluru-based startup has launched its range of ready-to-drink products Body Buddy and Mighty Meal — the former, a high-protein drink, and the latter, an oats-based meal equivalent drink.<br /><br />Priced in the range of Rs 100, Body Buddy is available in two flavours, and Mighty meal, priced at Rs 75, is available in four flavours.<br /><br />In an interaction with DH, Sridhar Vardharaj, Managing Partner and Founder of Zago, said: “Zago is the ultimate food for the urban, working professional, who is active and fitness-conscious. It suits perfectly for people, who may not have time for elaborate meals. Zago provides the right amount of nutrition and energy as a meal replacement.” <br /><br />Vardharaj himself has significant experience within the active nutrition sector. Being an active participant in a number of fitness activities, he understands the importance of nutrition, and therefore, incorprates his ideas in the innovation of Zago products. <br /><br />“Zago, as a drink, took us over two years to develop. Most of the energy drinks out there are not natural and Zago breaks this trend. Moreover, it is the first Indian ready-to-drink protein drink, and probably the first in the world that need not be refrigerated,” he added. From December 2015, when the drinks first hit the market, it has increased its current market presence to 140 outlets in Bengaluru, a similar number of outlets in Delhi, about 80 in Chennai, and 20 in Hyderabad. Further, the company also retails on ecommerce portals including HealthKart and Bigbasket, apart from its own website.<br /><br />With a team of 70 across Bengaluru and Coimbatore, the company is ready to launch solid foods under the similar concept of ‘healthy meal replacement’. “Our efforts will always be to develop ready-to-consume food for people on-the-move,” he said, adding, “While our current focus is on a niche market, which is fitness-driven, we expect them to be our market drivers. As fit individuals, they can be influencers, who can encourage even non-fitness enthusiasts to adopt the product.” <br /><br />The bootstrapped company plans to launch new products by February, next year, before which, it plans to expand its geographical footprint to be present across 8-10 metro cities in India.<br /><br /></p>
